Patch "Chirping"

This patch was inspired by the Chernihiv carpet “Flight” (1993) by Nataliya Chernova.
Today, the original carpet is part of Robert Walker’s collection in the USA. We discovered it with help from Chernihiv designer Olha Razanova, who kindly lent us a local library book on the region's folk arts.
Now part of the Chernihiv region, the village of Dihtyari was once in the Poltava Governorate and was a major carpet weaving center with its own school and workshops.
This once again highlights the importance of studying carpets based not only on design origin but also on the history of the area where they were found.
