Details

The “Vidrodzhena” silk scarf is rooted in a powerful story of memory, survival, and cultural continuity. Its design is based on embroidery from a men’s shirt made in the 1940s in the village of Khmeleva, Ternopil region, Ukraine.

The original shirt was buried underground by relatives after the family was deported to Siberia. It was uncovered in the early 1990s, and the surviving embroidered fragments are now preserved in the collection of Serhii Pasichenko. Reinterpreted in silk, this pattern becomes a tribute to resilience and the enduring strength of Ukrainian heritage.

Part of the Embroidered Heritage collection, created in collaboration with the NGO World Vyshyvanka Day, this scarf is both a refined accessory and a meaningful cultural statement.
